Those who are upset because this documentary is not presenting facts, statistics, and hard evidence are missing the point in my opinion. The filmmakers do not appear to be trying to present an % historically accurate depiction of what occurred millions of years ago, but rather to illustrate how broad sociological constructs such as empathy, beauty, love, trade, etc. played important roles. Our ancestors were hungry for freedom. But on the savannah, the predators were absolute kings. So our ancestors invented weapons. And, for the first time, challenged the supremacy of the big cats.
